The TEAM VoWLAN solution turns the desktop into a pocketable virtual office, delivering comprehensive mobile access over the WLAN to the voice and data services needed to increase productivity, collaboration and customer satisfaction.

This standards-based solution easily integrates as a non-intrusive overlay to existing PBX and WLAN infrastructure, providing a unified platform with enterprise-class performance, unmatched scalability and common management and security for both voice and data services.

The TEAM VoWLAN solution delivers cost-effective mobile access over the WLAN to PBX-based telephony, PTT, text messaging, email/PIM, Internet/Intranet and line of business applications – all through a single device. A pocketable virtual office, it provides on-the-move workers inside the enterprise with the tools needed to increase productivity and customer satisfaction.

This solution consists of business smartphones and two key appliances: the Wireless Services Manager (WSM) and Network Services Manager (NSM).

Architecture

team arq

The TEAM VoWLAN solution leverages your current technology investments while building a foundation for future innovations. Our flexible, end-to-end architecture builds on existing infrastructure, integrating as a non-intrusive overlay to your enterprise PBX and WLAN network to create a single common platform for the delivery of integrated voice and data services.

The TEAM solution simply adds two key appliances. First, the Wireless Services Manager or WSM provides connectivity for telephony, Push-to-Talk and text messaging services over the WLAN. The WSM connects the smartphones and the enterprise PBX. This architecture enables interoperability with a range of PBXs and maximizes the number of features and generations of PBXs the solution can connect to. Second, the Network Services Manager or NSM provides a provisioning and management window into the system, and can be controlled on site or remotely by IT.

Completing the solution is a full-featured Windows Mobile® voice over WLAN (WiFI) smartphone, available in both a professional and semi-rugged model. These three elements combine to deliver high performing, mobile voice and data services with robust standards-based security - throughout the enterprise.

The TEAM VoWLAN solution is part of a comprehensive portfolio of communication solutions. In the future, with a simple software upgrade, the TEAM VoWLAN solution architecture will be able to extend communications outside the enterprise with seamless roaming between WLAN and cellular networks. The solution will also extend support to other Motorola devices including mobile computers, scanning devices, two-way radios and cell phones.

Multi-vendor PBX and WLAN interoperability
Easily integrates as a non-intrusive overlay to existing PBX (TDM and IP) and WLAN infrastructure, leveraging existing technology investments

Common communications services architecture
Standalone voice and data systems are replaced with a common architecture, common security and common management

Toll-quality voice
Combines innovative design and superior quality engineering to deliver a superior voice experience with performance that matches that of traditional wired landline service

Improved battery life
The WSM handles the majority of the processing required to maintain connections, eliminating much of the burden from the mobile device

Superior scalability
Easily expands to accommodate additional devices and call capacity as needed – for up to 4,500 users per WSM

Enterprise-class security, including voice packet encryption
Not only supports all of today’s best-in-class wireless LAN standards, but also provides an additional layer of security for voice traffic by encrypting voice packets as they travel over the air

Unified management
Provides robust uniform management policies that are centrally and remotely controlled by IT, including: 2-factor authentication (device and user) and remote wipe

Standards-based, open solution
Facilitates integration with multi-vendor wireless LANs, applications and PBXs
